@Film at Lincoln Center
It is Awards Season and some of the most exciting, Award-buzz films of the year are playing at Film at Lincoln Center. Operating in 3 theaters, including NYC’s best movie theater, the iconic Walter Reade Theater, FLC is located at 144 and 165 West 65th Street, Broadway, Manhattan.
Grab some hot drink and enjoy a fine, arthouse film such as Isabelle Huppert in the delicious comedy “A Traveler’s Needs”, the 31st film directed by Korean auteur Hong Sangsoo, in which she plays a French teacher with an odd method of class; or the Iranian dramatic thriller “The Seed of the Sacred Fig” which its director had to flee the country in order to release it- the result is a masterpiece in suspense, one of the most impactful and politically-charged protest-movies ever made. Another revolutionary work is “All We Imagine As Light”, a romantic-drama from India which was recently named Best International Film by the New York Film Critics Circle Awards and the Gotham Awards. It is beauitiful and heartbreaking.
Opening next weekend is “Hard Truths” the new drama by veteran master Mike leigh. Its star, the great, Oscar-nominated actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste will be in attendance at select screenings.
Tickets $17. INFO: https://www.filmlinc.org/
