McDonald’s employees caught in confusing act in front of customers
When your order is taking longer than usual at McDonald’s, you might assume it’s caught behind a number of other orders or that staff are busy with drive-through requests.
However, one customer at the McDonald’s in TelefonTorvet, Aarhus, Denmark, experienced a much stranger delay — his Fillet-O-Fish burger was held up because an employee was engaged in an “intimate” act with their colleague.
The customer, @tehlsi, shared this surprising moment on TikTok, where the video quickly went viral, amassing over 2.5 million views.
In the clip, he zooms in on his receipt to show that his order number is 61.
He then pans to the screen behind the counter, which indicates that order number 62 is ready, suggesting that his burger may have been overlooked or that the staff is behind on processing orders.
He then reveals the cause of the holdup: a male staff member is seen giving a back massage to a female employee, right next to where customers’ orders are meant to be prepared for takeaway.
The massage lasts for about 10 seconds while the customer watches on in disbelief.
Eventually, the manager finishes with a quick shiatsu and heads back to the kitchen to attend to his actual work.
In the caption, the user jokes, “Uhm … am I interrupting something?”
Thousands of commenters chimed in with their reactions.
One noted, “You don’t understand until you’ve worked in hospitality,” while another joked, “Not the office romance.”
Comments ranged from calling it a “Mcssage” or a “McLovin” to commentary about what not to do at work.
“Send this to HR,” one commenter suggested.
However, some defended the manager’s actions, suggesting, “I like to think this is two friends supporting one another after a really hard shift during the Christmas period. As long as she’s okay with it, I think we can wait a few extra seconds.”
Another commenter added, “Work in hospitality during the holiday rush and you’ll see.”
After some users warned the original poster that he might be “jeopardising” the employees’ jobs, he responded, “Woah, I didn’t expect this to blow up so much lol. Some people seem angry, so I just want to clarify that I wasn’t annoyed about anything and absolutely don’t want anyone’s job to be jeopardised.
“I wouldn’t have posted this if anyone’s faces were shown. Hospitality isn’t easy work, and I didn’t mean to upset anyone. I just thought it was a bit funny – after all, we’ve all seen worse things at McDonald’s, right?”
Speaking of worse incidents at McDonald’s, disturbing footage recently emerged from a busy store in New South Wales showing cockroaches crawling in various places, including the fries, furniture, and a bin.
The footage was from the Broadmeadow location in Newcastle, and captured not only cockroaches but also dozens of maggots on a dustpan.
A spokesperson for McDonald’s expressed disappointment over the video, stating, “We are disappointed to see these images. This clearly falls short of McDonald’s strict food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
“We have taken immediate action at McDonald’s Broadmeadow, including a thorough professional pest inspection and the installation of additional pest control measures. We will continue to work closely with the restaurant to ensure our customers can feel confident in our commitment to food safety, quality, and a great customer experience.”
