Now is the Best Time to Subscribe to Peacock—Here’s 5 Reasons Why
If you’re the kind of person who likes to curate a streaming lineup that works best for you, adding and dropping services as hot new shows and movies drop, let us make a case for why Peacock needs to be in your rotation right now.
The NBC Universal streamer has certainly had some ups and downs, but following a successful 2024 Olympics and the introduction of some popular new originals like The Day of the Jackal and Laid, things have been on the upswing lately, making it a must-have in my own streaming rotation.
Peacock is among the most affordable streamers, too; the ad-supported plan costs $7.99/month, while ad-free costs $13.99/month. It offers annual plans that give you 12 months for the price of 10 ($79.99 with ads and $139.99 without), so you can stream and save.
The ad-free plan includes everything the ad-supported plan has (including Sunday Night Football, next-day Bravo and NBC premieres, and new movies straight from theaters), but it also comes with a 24/7 live feed of your local NBC network.
Without further ado, here are five reasons why there’s never been a better time to subscribe to Peacock.
1. NFL Wild Card Weekend is Upon Us!
The Sunday Night Football finale was last week, but NFL on NBC isn’t over just yet. It’s Super Wild Card Weekend and NBC is once again hosting the Sunday night finale.
This weekend, Peacock will be airing the Washington Commanders vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game live at 8:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, January 12.
2. The Traitors is Back for Season 3
If you’ve heard of The Traitors, you’ve probably been eagerly awaiting its return; if you haven’t yet, meet your new TV obsession.
The Traitors, the award-winning reality competition game of lies, treachery, and deceit, is back for a third season. In it, reality stars from Bravo and competition shows like Big Brother, Survivor, and The Challenge work to eliminate the Traitors in their midst as the Traitors work to eliminate the Faithful.
This season features iconic TV personalities including Survivor‘s “Boston” Rob Mariano, Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen, Vanderpump Rules villain Tom Sandoval, and The Real Housewives of Potomac‘s Robyn Dixon.
New episodes of The Traitors will drop on Peacock every Thursday at 9:00 p.m. ET through March 6.
3. Oscar Contenders are Streaming Exclusively on Peacock
If you’re trying to watch all of the Academy Awards hopefuls without spending a fortune on VOD, Peacock is your spot for movies from Focus Features, DreamWorks Animation, and Universal Pictures.
The pope drama everyone’s talking about, Conclave, is currently streaming on Peacock. Starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, and Isabella Rossellini, Conclave is set after the death of the pope and follows the papal conclave to elect a new head of the church complete with secrets, lies, and stunning twists.

The Wild Robot will come to Peacock on January 24; it’s one of the year’s most acclaimed movies and a Best Animated Feature hopeful. Based on the book of the same name, The Wild Robot follows a service robot left alone on a remote island with no memory of how she got there. As she adapts, she realizes her only chance for survival is to befriend the animals who surround her. Lupita Nyong’o voices the titular robot and the film also features the voices of Pedro Pascal, Kit Connor, Bill Nighy, Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, Catherine O’Hara, Matt Berry, and Ving Rhames.
Eventually, you’ll be able to stream Wicked and Nosferatu on Peacock, too.
4. Saturday Night Live is Celebrating 50 Years
Live from New York, it’s Season 50 of Saturday Night Live!
There’s no shortage of great SNL content as the 50th anniversary show approaches. In addition to being able to stream new episodes live, you can watch archival episodes all the way back to Season 1, too.
Next week, SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night, a four-part documentary series that dives deep into the show, will premiere exclusively on Peacock. On January 28, you’ll be able to watch Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music, a three-hour doc about SNL musical guests from Oscar-winning director Questlove.
Of course, this is all leading to the big celebration: SNL50, the three-hour live retrospective, airs on February 16.
5. The Bravo Universe Never Slows Down
In addition to backlog seasons of every Bravo show you can think of, new episodes of currently-airing Bravo shows hit Peacock the morning after they air on cable. And it just so happens that right now, Bravo’s weekly lineup is stacked.
Right now, you’ll be able to check out new episodes of Below Deck: Sailing Yacht, Married to Medicine, Sold on SLC, Southern Charm, Southern Hospitality, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Real Housewives of New York, Real Housewives of Potomac, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
