KAT changes into Knicks gear after getting roasted for Eagles sweater

Karl-Anthony Towns switched gears, or in this case, gear.

The Knicks star was roasted by fans early during Wednesday’s game against the 76ers for wearing an Eagles sweater while sitting on the bench with an injured thumb at Wells Fargo Center.

Well, in the second half, KAT started donning a more team-appropriate blue and orange top, a NYON — New York or Nowhere — branded long-sleeve rugby shirt similar to one available on the Knicks’ official merchandise store.

It’s unclear if Towns was told to change by the team or if he heard some of the online backlash from Knicks supporters.

Towns wore the retro Eagles gear at the start of the game and even got the approval of teammate Jalen Brunson for the decision.

That didn’t stop fans from criticizing Towns, who is an unabashed Eagles fan.

“I cant believe KAT in this eagles fit on the bench. He should get fined,” wrote one fan on X.

“KAT why the f–k are you wearing an eagles jacket when we’re playing Philly,” another angry supporter chimed in.

Towns sat out the game with a thumb sprain and bone chip, The Post reported Wednesday.

In Knicks gear on the court this season, Towns has been a force with 25.4 points and 10.9 rebounds per game in his first year in New York.
