Dump truck smashes into NJ Target — leaving gaping hole and at least 6 people injured: reports


A dump truck smashed into the side of a New Jersey Target store Friday, creating a massive gaping hole in the side of the store and injuring at least six people, according to reports.

The store in North Bergen was open for business when the truck hit a tractor-trailer on a nearby highway and went flying into the store, according to FOX 5. Videos show the truck completely lodged inside the side of the Target.

“I saw someone getting pulled out of the rubble,” an unidentified witness told the station.

At least six people were injured in the wild crash, a rep for the town of North Bergen told WABC. There were no fatalities reported Friday afternoon.

The shop on Tonnelle Avenue was severely damaged, and the road was temporarily closed in both directions near 70th Street. The tractor trailer was seen wrapped around a nearby utility pole

Crews began removing the truck from the side of the building at about 3:55 p.m.

The crash is now under investigation, police said.
