Mekki Leeper Gives His Hot Take On Craig Conover And Paige DeSorbo’s Split On ‘WWHL’: “Finally”

Not everyone was heartbroken about Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo‘s breakup. On Monday night’s (Jan. 20) episode of Watch What Happens Live, actor Mekki Leeper offered his hot take on the news that shook the Bravo-verse.

“Finally!” Leeper said when a virtual fan asked for his reaction to Conover and DeSorbo’s split during the WWHL: After Show. “Is this a crazy take? You guys are gonna kill me in here.”

Host Andy Cohen assured the St. Denis Medical star that he was in a “safe space,” before questioning why he felt that way.

“I think Paige was never gonna leave [New York]. I don’t think that that was gonna happen,” Leeper said. “And I — am I a hater to say that I think Paige could do better? Is that crazy?”

“Craig seems like he wants a wife. I’m like, does he want Paige, though?” Leeper continued. “I think Paige needs somebody that wants Paige.”

DeSorbo announced that she and the Southern Charm star had broken up after three years of dating on the Dec. 30 episode of her Giggly Squad podcast, which she shares with her former Summer House co-star Hannah Berner.

“I love him. I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends. No one did anything. I don’t think it was a bad thing,” she shared at the time. “I think we both were being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want. I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real-time and what you want for your future.”

Conover later revealed he was “very shocked” when they broke up “right before the holidays.”

“This has all been very, very unexpected to say the least. But I guess life has to — I gotta start living again, whatever that looks like, whatever my new normal looks like, I have to start,” he said in an Instagram video, urging fans to “be kind” to him and DeSorbo.

While Leeper wasn’t exactly surprised by the news, other actors like Jon Hamm were.

“I got to pour one out for Craig and Paige, my goodness,” he said during Cohen and Anderson Cooper‘s New Year’s Eve broadcast on CNN. “End of an era. Jeez. Who would have thunk it?”

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
