Nutjob brutally stabs man in NYC feud over cigarette, good Samaritan fights back with baseball bat
A nutjob brutally knifed a man through his car window in Queens clash over a cigarette — and only stopped when a good Samaritan fought back with a baseball bat, according to cops and a report.
The 43-year-old victim was sitting in a parked car at 143rd Street and Lowe Court in Jamaica around 11 a.m. Wednesday when the stranger approached, cops said.
The aggressor asked the victim for a light and flew into a rage when he said no, the superintendent of a nearby building told WABC.
“This guy, I watched him four times go back and forth, back and forth,” said the super, who the network identified as Freddy.
“I knew something was wrong with this guy,” Freddy said. “Then out of nowhere, this guy came back with a knife and started stabbing this guy in the neck and his face and I couldn’t let that happen.”
The attacker reached through the victim’s window as he repeatedly and senselessly knifed him, cops said.
That’s when Freddy stepped in — walloping the assailant twice with a baseball bat, he told the network.
The suspect tried to fight back — but took off when Freddy dealt one more blow to his shoulder, he said.
“Nobody’s going to get killed on my watch, not in my neighborhood,” the do-gooder added.
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center by private means, where he was listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in the late-morning violence.
