Mets sign Nick Madrigal as versatile infield depth
The Mets have added to their infield depth.
They signed Nick Madrigal to a one-year, $1.35 million deal, The Post’s Joel Sherman reported.
He already passed his physical.
He has played both second and third base.
Madrigal, 27, spent the last three years with the Cubs and last season hit .221/.280/.256 with a .535 OPS.
He spent two years with the White Sox prior to his Cubs tenure.
Infielder Jose Iglesias, who emerged as a Mets fan favorite last year, remains a free agent.
