Victoria and David Beckham irk new neighbors just days after moving into $80million Miami mansion
They say money can’t buy you love — apparently that applies to neighbors.
Page Six hears that Victoria and David Beckham have already pissed off their neighbors just days after moving into an $80 million mansion in Miami Beach.
The problem is that the couple haven’t been properly private.
Usually, celebrities and the super-rich set up a limited liability company just for the purpose of buying their home — because they can hide their address. For example, if a star sets up an LLC registered to an attorney’s office on 6th Avenue in New York City and that LLC buys a home in Miami, the only address that’s available through public records would be the attorney’s office, not the home.
But for some reason, Posh and Becks just bought the home the old-fashioned way — under their own names.
Now, nearby residents claim that the area’s been clogged with fans, paparazzi and nosey locals, who all easily found the famous couple’s address, essentially looking them up in the phone book.
Other stars in the area reportedly include Shakira and Bee Gees star Barry Gibb. (Though there’s nothing to suggest that either are among the irritated neighbors).
“The whole world is driving by, paparazzi are there, the houses are all over the Web, and the neighbors are concerned for safety,” said an insider.
“They wish the Beckhams hadn’t used their real name. Miami’s neighborhoods aren’t Beverly Hills — it’s a lot of private, non-famous families.”
“They don’t want unnecessary public attention,” they added.
The bonkers house reportedly has 13 bathrooms, an outdoor kitchen, a rooftop lounge and 124ft of frontage on Biscayne Bay that includes a mooring area for boats.
Reps for the couple didn’t respond to our requests for comment.
