Buyout market options who could be the Knicks’ final piece

The Knicks stood pat. They made the minor move of dealing Jericho Sims, which, as we’ve reported, was in the works for a while and became an acceptance from both sides that the relationship ran its course.

Sims, a pending free agent, was riding the bench and sought a fresh start after four seasons with the franchise. The Knicks obliged and got back Delon Wright, who has a guaranteed contract but may or may not crack the rotation.

So the deadline didn’t answer many of the questions surrounding the team’s lack of depth. Even assuming Mitchell Robinson and OG Anunoby stay healthy — very big assumptions — they could use either another reliable wing or big.

Which brings us to the buyout market.
