Brutal Bronx hit-and-run caught on video with one in custody: NYPD

The NYPD has one person in custody for a brutal Bronx hit-and-run that was captured on security camera footage.

A 22-year-old was struck by a black SUV on the corner of E 228th Street and Laconia Avenue, in the Edenwald section of the Bronx, according to the NYPD.

Video of the incident obtained by The New York Post shows a man jogging across the street as a black SUV approaches the intersection.

As the 22-year-old victim approaches the corner — the SUV speeds up and hits him, sending him flying into the intersection.

The SUV then speeds off down the street, fleeing the scene.

The victim suffered a head injury and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where he remains in stable condition.

The NYPD has taken a person of interest into custody and though charges have yet to be filed.
