Sportsbooks boast about record-setting Super Bowl 2025 betting
Super Bowl 2025 proved to be a historic day, one sportsbook tells The Post.
“Super Bowl LIX was the single-biggest betting event in the history of BetMGM—it took the most bets, and was one of the best single-game results in company history,” said BetMGM senior trading manaager Christian Cipollini. “Super Bowl bettors cashed in on Eagles moneyline and Jalen Hurts Super Bowl MVP, but both defenses slowing down Saquon Barkley and Travis Kelce netted a great result for us.”
DraftKings even put an official number on the massive amount of bets it wrote on the Big Game.
“There were over 12 million bets placed on the game with DraftKings across 2.5-plus million active customers,” a DraftKings spokesperson told The Post. “DraftKings led the competition in the app store, peaking at No. 3 in Top Free Overall & No. 1 in Top Free Sports.”
Sports betting was a massive boom in the Super Bowl, specifically for the books, despite some big bets coming on the Eagles.
The massive volume is especially shown by some of the largest bets being wagered at BetMGM, with an $800,000 win on the Eagles moneyline among the most lucrative wins in the legal market.
BetMGM also wrote a $750,000 bet on Philadelphia’s moneyline (+110), while a wager on Chiefs moneyline (-130) was a $320,000 bet that lost.
The sportsbook also made big money on the down games by Kelce and Barkley.
Betting on the NFL?
BetMGM told The Post just prior to the Eagles’ 40-22 dismantling of the Chiefs that the most bet-on players to score a touchdown were Barkley (-200), Hurts (-115) and Kelce (+125).
Perhaps the worst bet was that of Kelce to win Super Bowl MVP ($25,000 at 13/1) since he did not catch a pass in a disastrous first half and finished with four receptions for 39 yards.
The largest reported wager on Super Bowl 2025 was made by known big money bettor Marco Piemonte, who won $1 million at Fanatics Sportsbook when he bet on the Eagles +1.5 (-110).
