Elon Musk hands out second $1 million prize in voter registration giveaway, jokes, ‘Hopefully I don’t get shot’

MCKEES ROCKS, Pennsylvania — Billionaire Elon Musk handed out a second million-dollar check to another lucky Pennsylvania voter on Sunday — the second staggering prize he’s doled out to swing-state residents for signing a petition from his political action committee.

Kristine Fishell was handed an oversized seven-figure check by Musk onstage, who was giddy with delight as she raised it over her head at the Roxian Theatre in McKees Rocks outside Pittsburgh.

“Thank you so much, I truly believe everything you’re doing. You don’t need to be doing it. Your wealth and responsibility you are using to save speech, and we just all appreciate it. Thank you so much,” Fishell told Musk.

Musk has pledged to hand out $1 million to one random signer of his petition every day until the presidential election on Nov. 5 — meaning there are 16 lucky Americans across in swing states who will cash in big.

“Hopefully I don’t get shot,” Musk joked as he made the announcement on stage, saying “one prominent Democrat after another” has been attacking free speech.

The petition asks signers to pledge to uphold free speech and the right to bear arms — the First and Second Amendments to the US Constitution, which Musk has been touting while stumping for Trump in recent weeks.

“All you have to do is sign a petition in support of the constitution,” Musk said after handing out the prize Sunday.

His million-dollar offer is only available to registered voters in swing states Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina — and the window to sign the petition closes on Monday, Oct. 21.

On Saturday, Musk handed out the first check while campaigning for Trump on Saturday, with a man named John Droher being called on stage to his apparent surprise to receive the prize.

Attendees at Sunday’s event were excited about the possibility of cash — but many said they had come to see Musk first.

“I knew nothing about it,” said attendee Joe Ponsi, “I’ve been a Musk fan before even the elections. I’m excited to hear what he has to say.”

This is a breaking story. Please check back for updates.
