Taylor Swift Names Diddy As A Dream Prom Date In Poorly Aged Rachael Ray Interview: “He Would Be Fun”
A resurfaced interview from 2011 shows Taylor Swift praising the now-disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was recently arrested for sex trafficking and accused of sexual assault by several individuals, with cases going as far back as 1991.
The interview, which is now going viral online, shows a 21-year-old Swift sitting with Rachael Ray on her FYI Network talk show to dish on who she would love to bring to prom with her.
“It would be a group, and it would be a really fun group,” Swift responded as she chose from a pile of pictures of various celebrities.
“Boy, you’re going on a freaky prom date,” Ray commented.
The pop star eventually narrowed down her hypothetical choices to Diddy, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, Sheryl Crow and Justin Timberlake.
When Ray asked why she chose those figures in particular, Swift explained, “Diddy’s really always been very nice to me. He would be fun to be in the prom group.”
Ray appeared to agree, adding, “He’s a gentleman, isn’t he? He’s a lovely gentleman.”
The video did not age well considering Diddy’s recent legal troubles. The rapper was arrested in September for sex trafficking and racketeering, almost a year after settling a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, who accused him of rape and abuse. A leaked surveillance video also showed the rapper physically battering her in a hotel hallway.
But Swift has been photographed with Diddy as recently as 2023 at the Video Music Awards, where Diddy received the Global Icon Award and performed a medley of his biggest songs.
The “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper is currently facing charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. The indictment features damning details, including allegations that he organized sexual parties called “Freak Offs” where victims were coerced into participating with the use of drugs. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In addition to the federal case, an attorney recently announced that he is representing 120 victims who are coming forward to accuse Diddy of sexual misconduct. One victim alleges he was 9 years old when the abuse happened.
A documentary series about Diddy is currently in the works by Investigation Discovery, which also brought the 2023 bombshell series Quiet on Set about the dark underbelly of Nickelodeon kids’ television.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has long publicly criticized Diddy, is also working on a documentary series of his own that will eventually land on Netflix.
