Jazz’s Taylor Hendricks suffers gruesome leg injury
Jazz forward Taylor Hendricks suffered a fractured right fibula and and dislocated ankle in a gruesome scene Monday night that required him being removed from the floor via a stretcher.
The former first-round pick attempted to slow down while running up the floor during the third quarter against the Mavericks but then slipped, with his right leg being caught underneath him.

When Hendricks swung his leg out, the bottom portion of his leg appeared to be pointing right in an unnatural position.
The 20-year-old scooted forward and then put his hands on his head, seemingly realizing something terrible had happened.
Individuals attended to Hendricks while he sat on the floor and some of his teammates came to check on him before being loaded onto the stretcher.
He later was ruled out for the remainder of the contest and the Jazz tweeted after the contest that further details would be provided when appropriate.
Hendricks exited the game with the Jazz (0-3) trailing by five in their eventual 110-102 loss.
He scored two points and tallied three rebounds in 21 minutes, shooting 0-for-5 and missing three 3-pointers.
Utah drafted Hendricks with the ninth pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of UCF following a strong freshman season in which he averaged 15.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.
Hendricks averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds last season in his rookie year spanning 40 games (23 starts) and has started all three games for the Jazz this year.
Utah exercised his third-year rookie scale option for the 2025-26 season last week.
The Jazz hosts the Kings on Thursday in the second game of a back-to-back in search of their first win.
