Subway unveils footlong holiday cookie with a crazy calorie count
Cookie lovers, rejoice — Subway introduced a holiday cookie big enough to stuff a stocking.
Double Chocolate Peppermint Footlong Cookies were added to the menu Nov. 1 and will be available through Dec. 31.
Diet conscious types need not apply, however — the warm treat, giving one gooey bite after another, will cost you a whopping 1,330 calories.
That’s more than half the recommended intake for many adults.
The recipe starts with Subway’s Double Chocolate Cookie dough, loaded with chocolate and white chips, swirled with peppermint extract and topped with red and white candy cane pieces.
This is the second footlong cookie Subway has released, following the debut of a giant, classic chocolate chip cookie in January.
“Since their debut earlier this year, millions of Footlong Cookies have delighted our fans — now we can’t wait for them to experience how we’ve reimagined another classic cookie flavor into even more footlong indulgence,” Paul Fabre, Senior Vice President, Culinary and Innovation at Subway, said in a written statement.
“The holiday season is synonymous with cookies, making it the perfect time to introduce this new warm, flavor-packed footlong cookie to our snack menu,” Fabre continued.
The new holiday cookie joins the menu of snacks priced at $5 and under — though the brand noted that prices may vary depending on location.
The sweet treat is sold in footlong-sized holiday packaging.
Fans appear to be feeling merry about the latest drop — those who have tried it already are raving.
“Tried this once the shipment came in. such a great choice from the company,” one person commented on Subway’s Instagram.
“YYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS,” another exclaimed, while one excited customer said, “I’m running rn, wtf.”
“As a Subway worker who’s already tried this item, it’s definitely gonna be a best seller,” an insider revealed.
