A Game Changing Surprise Lands ‘Big Brother’ Legend Dr. Will Kirby On ‘Deal Or No Deal Island’
The second excursion has altered the course of this season of Deal or No Deal Island! Remember in the teaser when Survivor‘s Pavarti Shallow and Philip Solomon came across a shed with a plaque that read “Open this door and you change the game for everyone”? Well, the duo decided to “carpe the hell out of this diem” and flung open the door, grabbing a case worth $1.5M and bringing a “game changing surprise” into the competition.
“You chose that case without knowing what it could do and now you’ll have to deal with the fallout,” game master Joe Manganiello tells Shallow, Solomon, and the group after the excursion is over. On cue, a speedboat comes racing out of the distance carrying a tuxedo-clad man with sliver locks . As the craft approaches, Shallow is the first to guess his identity. “Is that Dr. Will?” asks Shallow in shock.
Immediately, the crew is suspicious of Dr. Will Kirby. “Why is this guy so pale? Who has he killed? Who has he bitten in the neck? Who is he about to bite here?” asks Alexis Lete. Well, if Lete knew her Big Brother history, she would recognize Dr. Will as the winner of Season 2 of the cult CBS reality TV show and arguably one of the best to ever play the game.
“20 years ago, I said I wasn’t going to compete again unless I could compete against a group of incredibly talented individuals,” says Dr. Will as he addresses the group. While some of the contestants are flattered by his opening statement, he quickly drops the hammer. “And that’s not you guys.” With the other players’ mouths agape, Dr. Will goes on heatedly: “Last night, you banked a total of a dollar! A dollar!” As he waves a dollar bill around in the air, Dr. Will yells, “you all aren’t good at this.It might be time to inject a little bit of life into this competition.”
While the others shift nervously as they anticipate what’s to come, Survivor: Australia legend David Genat seems to embrace the inevitable. “He’s so obnoxious, but if there’s anyone who understands strategy, it is Dr. Will. I don’t think anything Dr. Will does is not calculated, is not deliberate,” explains Genat in his confessional. While he admits the “dude is super, super smart,” Genat acknowledges that Dr. Will is”going to cause major problems for me on the island.”

Manganiello announces that Dr. Will will indeed join the game. The group gives a collective groan and begins the long journey back to camp. “He looks like a piano man who died,” mumbles Storm Wilson as he exits the excursion platform. Shallow and Solomon—who unwittingly brought Dr. Will into the game—commiserate as they walk on the beach. “Dr. Will coming in…what are your thoughts about that?” asks Shallow. “I think he’s not even too much, he’s three much,” jokes Solomon.
Later at the temple, the group gives Dr. Will what he describes as an “ice-cold” reception. As Courtney Kim calls out Dr. Will for “insulting their intelligence” by waving a dollar in their faces upon his arrival, he can only smirk. However, in his own confessional, he lets the players have it. “This isn’t kindergarten, I don’t have a juice-y box for you, and if I offend you, that’s your problem.”
“I am a reality TV show disruptor,” says Dr. Will gleefully. “I love chaos. When things are predictable, it’s boring. When things are a little chaotic, that’s where I thrive.” Will Dr. Will cause chaos and thrive on Deal or No Deal Island? That is what fans (and the Banker herself) are betting on.
Deal Or No Deal Island airs Tuesdays at 9PM ET/PT on NBC
