A woman learned of her husband’s infidelity because of this house-cleaning mystery
Did her husband have a dirty little secret?
A woman claims to have learned her other half was cheating on her — after noticing various items in their house starting to mysteriously change color.
“Everything in my house is turning green,” Reddit user @mioraa innocently shared to the Cleaning Tips thread, hoping that a user in the million-strong Subreddit might have some advice.

She explained that she first noticed her cat’s fur taking on a greenish tint — before seeing that her bedsheets, feet, couch, phone charger and wall had also changed hues.
She initially thought it was due to mold or her laundry detergent pods — but eventually tested those theories and decided they couldn’t be the cause.
Baffled, the woman eventually posted photos of the things that turned green, with a summary of her dilemma, hoping someone would be able to help her discover the culprit.
Fellow users suggested it could be caused by the cats getting into a mysterious green material, her furniture, or even a medical complication.

The woman tracked her cats’ movements, took them to the vet, flipped her furniture, had her water and AC checked, had someone check for mold, changed her bedding and even consulted her doctor — to no avail.
She noted that things were turning green specifically in her bedroom for the past few months, but couldn’t comprehend what was happening.
“I gotta find out what it is,” she insisted as she continued her investigation.
Eventually, an offhand remark from a fellow Redditor — intended as a joke — led to a heartbreaking revelation.

Someone suggested that the discoloration could be caused by a new pair of Old Navy jeans because “they stain everything.”
However, the woman quickly rejected the notion, claiming that neither she nor her husband wear jeans.
“Imagine this is how you discover he’s having an affair with some Old Navy-wearing woman, from the cat turning green!” someone commented.
Unfortunately, the bizarre situation was the truth.

“I hate to break it to you but… you were … right on the nose with this comment,” @mioraaa responded.
She explained that she “nervously laughed” and checked her joint bank account for any Old Navy purchases — admitting she’d been left with a “strange feeling” after reading the comment.
“I’ve already had suspicions on a possible affair from the multiple last minute overtime shifts and just overall changes in behavior. Also, my husband has cheated before so I’ve always been a bit anxious,” she shared.
As she “spiraled,” she checked her husband’s phone and discovered “some sexy Instagram DMs from a woman who wears jeans.”
That was enough.
“So anyway I’ve spent the last week at my parents with my cat,” she updated readers — with limited details as to how the whole situation played out.
“He has been served papers,” she tersely revealed.
Her final conclusion was that the staining appeared to be caused by the affected objects — including the cat — coming into contact with the bedsheets.
Bedsheets, apparently, where a stranger in cheap jeans may have been making herself just a little too comfortable.
