Bettor places massive $3.1 million bet on Eagles to beat Panthers
A high roller is going all in on the Eagles this weekend.
A Kentucky bettor put $3.1 million down at Circa Sportsbook on Philadelphia to beat the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in one of the largest reported NFL bets ever.
At -700 odds, the bet would net him or her about $442,800.
On Friday, Circa moved the Eagles -870 and lengthened the Panthers’ odds to win to +650 in response to the massive action.
Circa Sports owner Derek Stevens told ESPN that it’s the biggest bet the sportsbook has ever taken.
“I told my guys in the risk room to go to work and get some buyback on the Panthers,” Stevens told the outlet on Friday. “With us being in five states now, we should have the liquidity to get enough buyback to where we end up needing the Eagles.”
The Eagles are the biggest favorite in Week 14, sitting at -13.5 at most major sportsbooks as of this writing.
A Carolina win would be the biggest upset of the NFL season thus far, surpassing the Cowboys’ win over the Commanders as 10.5-point underdogs in Week 12.
Last week, the Raiders nearly pulled off an even bigger upset over the Chiefs as 12.5-point ‘dogs, falling short after a bad snap ruined their chance at taking a game-winning field goal.
Betting on the NFL?
The Eagles are currently 10-2, tied with the Bills and Vikings for the third-best record in the NFL, and have won eight straight.
The Panthers are 3-9 but have been playing better of late, beating the Giants in Week 10 before suffering close three-point losses to the Chiefs and Buccaneers after their bye week.
