Brooke Shields says surgeon threw in ‘bonus’ during labia surgery

Brooke Shields won’t beat around the bush anymore.

The “Pretty Baby” actress, 59, made startling accusations against her plastic surgeon in her upcoming memoir, “Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman.”

Shields said she underwent labia reduction surgery while in her 40s after experiencing discomfort, chafing and bleeding. However, her surgeon informed her during a post-op checkup that he threw in a “little bonus” without her consent while she was under the knife — vaginal rejuvenation.

“I’d be lying if I said I’m not embarrassed to share this very intimate information,” the actress wrote in her memoir, per Us Weekly. “But, if we are to change the way we approach and talk about women’s health, then we need to bring up the uncomfortable but very real issues.”

Shields recalled that her surgeon seemed proud of his “twofer” while noting that she didn’t want the “irreversible” procedure in the first place.

“He informed me that he threw in a little bonus,” Shields told the outlet in an interview published on Wednesday. “It felt like such an invasion—such a bizarre, like, rape of some kind.”

She shared that “nothing pointed toward this need to be tighter or smaller or firmer or younger, especially there.”

Despite not telling her husband of nearly 24 years, Chris Henchy, “for the longest time,” the former Calvin Klein model shared that she’s going public with her story to raise awareness.

“The Blue Lagoon” actress has spoken about aging in the past, revealing it’s “not a graceful process.”

“Isn’t it interesting how we even have to say, okay, well if you’re going to age, you’re going to have to do it gracefully,” she told Allure in June 2024. “Excuse me, but f–k you.”

Shields insisted that people must give themselves “acceptance and kindness” but face reality.

“If you don’t like what’s happening to your stomach, do sit-ups,” she said. “Those things to me are graceful. I think being ‘graceful’ as you age is just admitting the truth and then seeing what you’re comfortable doing about it.”

The star has been candid in the recent years.

In her 2023 Hulu documentary, “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields,” she revealed she was raped by a filmmaker in her 20s after she graduated from Princeton.

Shields told People that her oldest daughter knew about the assault but her younger child had “no idea” and felt “helpless” when finding out about the incident.

“Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman” is available on January 14, 2025.
