Troy Deeney’s Team of the Week: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alexander Isak, Lisandro Martinez, Dango Ouattara
Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool): This is the first time you’re going to hear me say this and probably the last. I was at the game and I would pay a huge amount of money to watch that. He was incredible; passing range, fitness, endeavour, defensive work as well as attacking work. He hit the bar. I thought he was excellent. Player of the weekend by a country mile.
Josko Gvardiol (Manchester City): I think this guy’s got an unbelievable ceiling. He’s only going to get better and better as the games carry on, and as he gets more and more confident, and City get more on it. I don’t think City go on to win against Chelsea if they don’t score before half-time – I think Chelsea regroup and go again.
Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton), Lisandro Martinez (Manchester United) and Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal): They’ve all been solid, just proper defenders and what I’m finding is these guys are stepping up more and more. I know a couple of them scored but they’re starting to mature into proper centre-halves.
