Premiership Women’s Rugby: Gloucester-Hartpury beat Loughborough Lightning to go top

Gloucester-Hartpury moved top of the Premiership Women’s Rugby table with a 36-19 win against Loughborough Lightning, as Saracens thrashed Leicester Tigers 100-0.

Sisilia Tuipulotu’s try gave Gloucester-Hartpury the lead before Bulou Mataitoga went over to level the match.

Tries from Mia Venner and Lucy Simpson helped give Gloucester-Hartpury a 19-5 lead at half-time and team-mate Lleucu George also touched down after the break.

An Alev Kelter try for the visitors made it 24-12 but Mackenzie Carson went over for the home side before Mataitoga and George each grabbed their second tries of the match.

Saracens took just four minutes to take the lead against Leicester Tigers when Leanne Infante scored a try, before they went on to overwhelm their opponents.

Sophie Bridger and Zoe Harrison each scored three tries, while Isla Alejandro, Emma Hardy and Marlie Packer each went over twice.

May Campbell, Fancy Bermudez and Rosie Galligan also added to the try count in the dominant win.
