Dodgers open with best preseason win total since at least 1990

The Dodgers are once again making history with a massive preseason win total.
Oddsmakers at most major sportsbooks have pegged the star-studded Dodgers for 104.5 wins, an unprecedented number in recent history.
They surpassed the eventual World Series champion 1999 Yankees, who had a 103.5 win total coming off a 114-win 1998 season, for the highest preseason over/under since at least 1990, according to SportsOddsHistory.com.
Last season, the Dodgers matched the 1999 Yankees’ 103.5 total, falling short of that number with regular season 98 victories.
The reigning champs are also one of the biggest preseason World Series favorites in years.
At +250, the Dodgers have the best title odds before Opening Day since the early 2000s Yankees, when they were +200 at BetMGM Sportsbook every season from 2001-03.
Before last season, the Dodgers had gone over their win total in five straight seasons.
Overall, they’ve won 100-plus games in five of their last seven full seasons.
The rosy forecast comes after yet another massive offseason for the Dodgers.
In November, they signed two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell to a five-year, $182 million deal.
Two months later, they added to their stacked starting rotation even further, signing Japanese sensation Roki Sasaki.
And their best pitching addition may be coming straight from last season’s roster.

Shohei Ohtani is throwing from the mound in Dodgers camp and is expecting to pitch in a game sometime during the first half of the season.
