Donna Kelce reveals gift she told Travis, Jason to stop giving her every Christmas
It’s a fumble for the Kelce brothers with this Christmas gift.
On the Tuesday episode of Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, a fan turned to the brothers for advice on when, “if ever,” is an appropriate time to let your partner know that they’re a “bad gift giver.”
The co-hosts took the opportunity to reflect on one particular childhood memory.
Jason, 37, and Travis, 35, told the listener to “say something” to their significant other because the situation “sounds like an issue.”
“Mom, Donna Kelce, had to deal with Christmas upon Christmas of the same gifts,” Jason added.
Kylie Kelce — who tied the knot with Jason in 2018 — was a guest on the episode and knew exactly what the brothers’ routine was. “Earrings and candles,” she said.
Jason said he and Travis would gift their mom earrings, candles and “pistachio nuts” every Christmas for their “whole childhood” before Donna, 72, eventually chimed in with how she really felt.
“She said, ‘You guys don’t have to get me the same thing every Christmas,’” Jason admitted to his wife.
Travis chimed in, “Yeah, but what do you get a mom that has everything she ever needs?”
Jason told the caller honesty was the best policy and to “just say you don’t like them,” but in a positive way.
“Just say, ‘Hey, I think I would appreciate something more sentimental,’” the ESPN analyst explained. “Just say what you like, don’t say what you don’t like.”
As for a woman’s perspective? Kylie told the listener to “be gentle about it” and “plant seeds” about potential items on your wish list “ahead of time” to give your partner ideas.
Meanwhile, Travis and Jason’s dad, Ed Kelce, had gift-giving efforts that made a lasting impression on the athletes.
On the Dec. 18 episode of their podcast, the brothers shared that Ed “used to take a second job around the holidays” at a See’s Candies store.
“So, Dad would take the second job in order to buy gifts for Travis and I because he needed more money around the holidays to buy the gifts that Travis and I were asking for,” Jason revealed to listeners during the episode, calling Ed “the ultimate dad.”
Meanwhile, this holiday season was an extra special one for Donna, who made her acting debut in two movies: “Christmas on Call” and “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.”
In “Christmas on Call,” Donna supported Jason‘s former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, while “Holiday Touchdown” showed the mom of two repping Travis‘ current team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Holiday Touchdown” was also inspired by her son’s romance with Taylor Swift.
If the pair were to tie the knot, the pop star would have a ball with Donna as her MIL, according to actress Hunter King, who stars in “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story” alongside the NFL’s most popular matriarch.
“She’s just full of love and she’s got great taste in candy. I turned her on to a Nerd gummy cluster, which she loved,” Hunter told The Post last month.
“Everyone adored her. Everyone just couldn’t wait till she showed up … The energy was always pretty up … but then when Donna was on set, everyone was just really, really excited.”
Tyler Hynes, who plays King’s love interest, called Donna “a queen sent from heaven” and said she did not need any acting advice.
“There’s nothing we could teach her. She’s teaching me how to act. She was crazy good,” he gushed.
“She’s perfect on camera. She needs no tips,” agreed Hunter, 31, an alum of “The Young and the Restless,” who has starred in multiple Hallmark movies.
