This Eagles’ mom isn’t letting anything fly with her.
Delatron Johnson, the mother of Philadelphia Eagles safety CJ Gardner-Johnson, was amused by Kansas City Chiefs fans and Swifties who bombarded her Florida restaurant with fake, negative reviews following her son’s taunts directed at Travis Kelce
Delatron first thought her Florida-based restaurant, The Kings Grill was broken into but was relieved to learn it was from riled-up Taylor Swift fans.
“I have friends who were sending me the screenshots,” Delatron told TMZ. “They were going, ‘Oh my god, look at this!’ And the first thing everyone said was, ‘the Swifties have attacked.’
“Yes, we’ve seen all the reviews. The joke is really on the Swifties and everyone entertaining the reviews because Kings Grill is closed.”
Johnson said the Swifites and everyone laughing at the reviews played themselves because the targeted restaurant has been closed since Jan. 25.
The mass review bombing from the irate internet crowd came after Gardner-Johnson took to Instagram with a not-so-subtle jab at Kelce and Swift’s relationship after the Eagles defeated the Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The 27-year-old shared a photo of Kelce staring him down after a play in the blowout win with a caption suggesting the 35-year-old should have stayed with ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole.
Johnson broke the news that she and her husband are opening up a new restaurant, where they held a Super Bowl watch party to take in the Eagles’ 40-22 win Sunday.
“There is really no backlash because we are in the process of selling Kings Grill anyways,” she said. “It didn’t affect us one way or another.”
The doting mother took credit for her son’s trash talk as she is the same way with words towards people.
“We’ve been dealing with this since he was a kid,” she added, saying her son hasn’t changed how he plays football or trash talks since he was young.
“He talks the talk ’cause he can back it up. The same thing with his mother, I talk the talk because I can back it up.”
Yelp was forced to “temporarily disable” reviews for the restaurant because of the unusually high public attention the page gained.
“This business recently received increased public attention, which often means people come to this page to post their views on the news,” a warning on the site read.
Negative reviews for the Rockledge, Fla. store appeared to have been deleted, leaving only old reviews and positive five-star comments from supporters.
The majority of the reviews from Feb. 10 and Feb. 11 are disguised to be actual comments by customers directed toward the staff, but several supporters made football and Philadelphia references too.
“cj gardner johnson owns the chiefs and absolutely amazing food. No better way to eat a DUB,” one comment read.
“Service is Swift and Speedy. If you dont visit this dominant establishment it will be a Travistry,” another joked.
“This where champs go to eat. Sucks that a few sore losers and some teenage girls with an obsession would attempt to defame a family’s livelihood. Go Birds!” added another.
