Elsbeth is a family affair! The CBS drama created by husband and wife producing duo Robert and Michelle King is welcoming another famous family to the show: Matthew and James Wilkie Broderick!
In a promo released exclusively to Decider ahead of the February 20 episode, “Foiled Again,” the father-son duo are front and center for their first on-camera appearance together. Watch the exclusive promo for next week’s episode in the media player above.
“While investigating the mysterious death of a college admissions officer, Elsbeth finds herself fencing with Lawrence Grey (Matthew Broderick), an independent educational consultant who promises an Ivy League future to high-paying clients and their painfully average kids. The case also causes Elsbeth and Teddy to question how well she prepared him for the real world,” an episode description reads.
James Wilkie is the eldest of Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker’s three children — the longtime couple also shares two daughters, Marion and Tabitha. Aside from a small part in AppleTV+’s Lady In the Lake, the Elsbeth role marks one of James Wilkie’s first acting jobs. Looks like he’s following confidently in his mom and dad’s footsteps!
In addition to the promo, CBS also dropped some new photographs from the February 20 episode, including snaps with the Brodericks, Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) and Kaya Blanke (Carra Patterson). One photo also sees the return of Elsbeth’s son, Teddy (Ben Levi Ross).
“Foiled Again” airs on CBS on February 20 at 10 p.m. ET. New episodes release the next day on Paramount+.
