Filip Chytil’s history makes latest injury even more worrisome

A year and 12 days later, here we are again, staring into the unknown with Filip Chytil going down again with the euphemistic “upper-body” injury.

There is no need to rush to judgement in the aftermath of the friendly-fire collision between the previously multiply concussed center and K’Andre Miller along the left half-boards in the offensive zone with 7:50 remaining in the second period of Thursday’s Blueshirts’ 3-2 victory over the Sharks at the Garden.

Maybe it was something else. Maybe it is something else. But it didn’t feel that way.

Every time Eric Lindros went down as a Ranger, there was an ominous feeling. When Pat LaFontaine went down on March 16, 1998, after a friendly-fire collision with Mike Keane, black clouds hovered over the Garden.
