‘General Hospital’ issues warning about episode amid Palisades Fire
“General Hospital” has issued a warning to viewers ahead of Wednesday’s fire-themed episode as Los Angeles burns.
Fierce wildfires have been raging through the area, fueled by relentless Santa Ana winds, forcing residents to flee. Thousands of firefighters have been battling at least three different blazes stemming from the Pacific Coast inland to Pasadena.
On Wednesday, “General Hospital” posted a message to viewers that the episode could be jarring given the poorly timed fire theme.
“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the fires currently raging in Los Angeles county,” the long-running soap’s message read via X, formerly Twitter.
“In light of current events” — meaning, the fast-moving wildfires, including the devastating Palisades Fire that has ravaged the coast since Tuesday — “today’s episode of General Hospital (and several that follow) may prove too difficult to watch for some,” the advisory continued.
The daytime drama ended its warning to viewers: “Please keep this in consideration prior to tuning in.”
According to TV Line, a fire breaks out at Port Charles gangster Sonny Corinthos’ penthouse, leaving the son that he shares with Carly’s son, Michael, trapped inside.
The storyline appears to be setting up cast member Chad Duell’s departure from his role as Michael. Duell announced he was leaving “General Hospital” after almost 15 years at the end of Nov.
There are three major fires burning out of control in LA right now, with at least 70,000 people in evacuation zones.
The Palisades Fire is now the most destructive wildfire in LA County history. More than 11,800 acres have burned and an estimated 1,000 structures have been destroyed, per KCAL News. There have been a large number of resident and first responder injuries reported — and several celebrities were forced to evacuate.
Paris Hilton, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, James Woods, Anna Faris, Diane Warren and Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have all lost their homes in the Palisades Fire that is still 0% contained.
The Post obtained photos of Pratt watching his house burn.
Actor Steve Guttenberg jumped into action, helping to move cars that terrified residents abandoned to outrun the flames.
During a local broadcast, the “Police Academy” actor warned: “Get your loved ones and get out.”
The Eaton fire has scorched over 10,600 acres and an estimated 100+ structures. Five people died in the 0% contained inferno.
Last but not least is the Hurst Fire, which has burned over 700 acres. Evacuation orders and warnings have been put in place on that fire as well.
