Giants hire coach with family ties to Rams’ Matthew Stafford

Giants hire coach with family ties to Rams’ Matthew Stafford

The Giants have a new assistant quarterbacks coach with a curious family tie.

Chad Hall, who is Matthew Stafford’s brother-in-law, will be added to the staff, The Post confirmed.

Hall previously coached receivers for the Jaguars and Bills, overlapping with Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll in Buffalo.

Stafford, who was Super Bowl 56 MVP in 2021, is unhappy with his Rams contract and could be made available one way or another.

If the Giants somehow attract Stafford, it changes their short-term outlook.

The 37-year-old Pro Bowler still showed plenty in the tank over 31 starts for the Rams the last two seasons, but one of his favorite targets (Cooper Kupp) is on the trading block as the Rams look to get younger.

Hall replaces Christian Jones, who was hired last week as Browns tight ends coach.

Shea Tierney remains the Giants’ primary quarterbacks coach, under offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and Daboll.
