‘Gossip Girl’ actress Chanel Maya Banks files for restraining order against family after she went ‘missing’
The Chanel Maya Banks saga continues.
The “Gossip Girl” actress — who was previously reported missing by her family — filed for a restraining order against her mother, Lutchmin Judy Kumar, and her cousin Danielle-Tori Singh on Thursday, according to TMZ, who obtained the court document.
Banks, 36, claimed that Kumar and Singh have not only harassed her but also worked together to destroy her credibility, the outlet reports.
She claimed the pair have repeatedly tried to make unwanted contact with her after she allegedly tried to establish distance with them in October.
The “Blue Bloods” actress claimed the duo responded by reporting her as a person missing and asking the Los Angeles Police Department to conduct a wellness check on her.
According to Banks, her mom and cousin would not stop contacting her even though her husband, Carlos Jiménez, told them she was fine and didn’t want to speak to them.
Banks alleged that Kumar and Singh then broke into her apartment on Nov. 10 — while she was out of town — to attack Jiménez, steal his work badge and put an Apple AirTag on her car to track her movements.
She claimed she reported the alleged incidents to the police.
According to Banks, Kumar and Singh have allegedly insisted she should be put on a 5150 psychiatric hold and continuously accused Jiménez of murder.
Banks is asking the court to stop Lutchmin and Singh from trying to get in touch with her and talking about her publicly.
However, sources close to the family denied all of the “Twelve” actress’ allegations of wrongdoing, telling TMZ that no one ever assaulted her husband.
The sources went on to explain that the family has no interest in re-establishing communication with Banks after everything she has said about her mom and cousin.
Banks went viral last month after Kumar and Singh launched a GoFundMe campaign to help find her, as they had not heard from her since Oct. 30.
Kumar and Singh claimed that cops went to Banks’ LA home four times between Nov. 7 and 8 but could not locate her.
The twosome said they managed to gain access to the residence on Nov. 10 and discovered that “all of her belongings [were] still there,” including her dog and her car.
Singh claimed that Banks never went anywhere “without telling her mom,” adding in an interview with ABC7 that Jiménez was allegedly “not willing” to help search for his wife.
He allegedly told the concerned pair that Banks did “not want to be found.”
Singh also claimed that Jiménez had a “busted lip and marks and scratches on his neck and arms” on Nov. 10, which “he did not have two days ago when police did the last welfare check.”
Law enforcement sources told TMZ later that day that Banks was found safe and that they did not suspect foul play was involved in her disappearance.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, she reportedly claimed she went to Texas to be baptized by her favorite pastor.
