Grimes ‘bounced’ from Elon Musk, ‘didn’t get dumped’
Grimes claimed she was the one who left her ex Elon Musk — not the other way around.
The singer made the clarification while engaging in a heated back-and-forth with outspoken rapper Azealia Banks on the Tesla CEO’s social media platform, X.
Grimes, who first made headlines for beefing with Banks in 2018, resurfaced their drama by responding to an internet meme in which the ladies’ heads were Photoshopped onto the bodies of Glinda and Elphaba from the new movie “Wicked.”
“Hate to say it but wouldve been kinda lit,” Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, replied to the mock photo Wednesday.
The next day, Banks went on the offensive by sharing screenshots of Grimes’ post and digging into her past relationship with the SpaceX founder.
“@Grimezsz girl the way u are still trying to hold out on some weird ass innocent bulls–t years later after u got dumped, cheated on, ur kids kidnapped and still trying to paint me like the villian [sic] and act like ur above me when ur getting sonned by elons secretary,” she wrote.
Banks, 33, went on to claim Musk, 53, was “the one who harvested” 36-year-old Grimes’ eggs “and took a picture of [her] c section,” which she called “PEAK white female delusion.”
“Get over urself ho,” she wrote. “The n—a has like four new kids and ur really a lame. Sis. U can really quit mentioning me. I know you wish you could be my bestie but bitch….. it’s f–king boring as hell. Let it go.”
Grimes was quick to defend herself for sharing the meme in the first place, calling it “just a funny joke.”
“not trying to paint u as a villain,” she wrote to Banks.
The “Genesis” artist then denied Must had “dumped” her, claiming she was the one who broke things off.
“i didn’t ‘get dumped’. I bounced,” she wrote. “My amazing baby is asleep in my bed beside me, I’m in love. no regrets. Life is as beautiful as u want it to be.”
Grimes ended her message by expressing her respect for Banks, writing, “Ur insanely talented. even after all this, I want u to win. god bless Mlady.”
The Canadian musician and Musk dated on and off from 2018 to 2022.
“We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms,” he told Page Six in 2021 during one of their breaks, adding, “It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA.”
The exes have since been locked in a nasty custody battle over their three kids: sons X, 4, and Techno, 2, and daughter Exa, 3.
The billionaire has nine other children, whom he shares with his first wife, Justine Wilson, and his Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.
