J Lo’s reaction to Bruno Mars’ ‘ridiculous’ fee for A-Rod’s wedding revealed
Apparently, love does cost a thing.
Jennifer Lopez was shocked when she learned how much Bruno Mars would reportedly charge her to perform for her wedding to ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez.
According to Lopez, 55, and Rodriguez’s famous wedding planner, Marcy Blum, the “Jenny From The Block” singer was taken aback when she discovered Mars’ performance fee after expressing interest in having him entertain her guests for the reception that never happened.
“We were working with J Lo and A-Rod before they broke up, and they were going through a list of musicians, and she goes, ‘What about Bruno Mars?’” Blum, 71, said on “The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast” Thursday.
Blum recalled telling Lopez that she had “just worked with” Mars on another wedding, and he received $5 million for the performance that only lasted 45 minutes to an hour.
The “Let’s Get Loud” singer reportedly replied, “‘Don’t be ridiculous!’”
The “Wedding Planning for Dummies” author shared that she could tell the story since she “never signed an NDA” while working with Lopez and Rodriguez post-breakup.
Before Lopez rekindled her romance with her estranged husband, Ben Affleck, she was engaged to the former New York Yankees player, 49.
The pair started dating in 2017 and announced their engagement in 2019.
Lopez and Rodriguez planned to say “I do” in Italy in 2020, but they were forced to postpone the ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They never made it down the aisle, calling off their engagement in 2021. Lopez reignited her relationship with Affleck shortly after the split.
The A-list couple, dubbed “Bennifer,” began dating in the early 2000s and first got engaged in 2002. Due to “excessive media attention,” they postponed their 2003 wedding just days before their scheduled ceremony.
Lopez and Affleck broke up in 2004.
Nearly 20 years later, the pair eloped in Las Vegas in 2022. They later had a formal wedding ceremony in Georgia.
In August, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
This marks her fourth divorce and Affleck’s second.
The “Unstoppable” actress was previously married to Ojani Noa (1997 to 1998), Cris Judd (2002 to 2003), and Marc Anthony (2004 to 2014), with whom she shares 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max. They divorced in 2014 after 10 years of marriage.
Affleck famously wed Jennifer Garner in 2005 before officially divorcing in 2018. They have three kids together: Violet, 19, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.
