Joe Rogan defends ‘super genius’ Elon Musk and his DOGE crackdown: ‘Good for everybody’

Joe Rogan called Elon Musk a “super genius” as he defended the tech mogul’s work slashing federal spending through his Department of Government Efficiency, claiming the cutbacks are “good for everybody.”

During Tuesday’s episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the popular podcaster ripped into Democrats who have blasted the SpaceX founder over his access to America’s sensitive information, including the Treasury Department’s payment system, as he scraps and dramatically transforms entire government agencies.

“He has $400 billion, he’s not going to steal your money. I’m telling you he’s not going to steal your money. I’m telling you, that’s not what he’s doing,” Rogan said in a viral minute-long clip that Musk shared on X, which he owns, with the caption, “The party is just getting started.”

“He’s a super genius that’s been f—ed with. And when you’ve been f—ed with by these nitwits that hide behind 3-letter agencies and you’re dealing with one of the smartest people alive and he helps Donald Trump get into office and he goes, ‘I want to find out what kind of corruption is really around,’” the comedian continued.

“You f—ed up and picked the wrong psychopath on the spectrum,” Rogan said while laughing.

“He’s gonna hunt you down, he’s going to find out what’s going on and that’s good. That’s good for everybody. That’s how you should be looking at this, like ‘Wow, we have a brilliant mind that is examining these really f—ing corrupt and goofy systems and bringing in a bunch of psychopath wizards.’”

The 47th president tapped Musk as a “special government employee” to lead DOGE — which despite its name is not a federal department but rather a temporary organization — to discover and eliminate what the Trump administration has deemed to be wasteful government spending, fraud and abuse.

Opponents, however, have expressed concern that Musk, the world’s richest man, wasn’t elected by the American public, yet is altering the executive branch and firing thousands of government workers without congressional approval.

Critics have skewered DOGE for obliterating vast tranches of money set aside for federal projects – including gutting the entire US Agency for International Development, nixing a museum exhibit for former COVID czar Anthony Fauci and ending costly news subscriptions for federal bodies.

Musk boasted Monday that 89 contracts worth more than $881 million have been scrapped with the federal Department of Education. DOGE also took a fiscal chainsaw to 29 diversity, equity and inclusion programs that cost a total of around $101 million.

Federal judges and a series of lawsuits, however, have temporarily halted some of the pair of billionaires’ attempts to revamp the federal government structure – resolutions the commander-in-chief plans to appeal.

Musk and his DOGE team are expected to look at the Pentagon next to weed out wasteful government spending, and have recently been scrutinizing alleged Social Security fraud.

The president invited the Tesla chief to the Oval Office on Tuesday and directed DOGE to fire non-essential federal workers and shut down entire unnecessary agencies – giving him even more authority to overhaul the US government.

The executive order, previewed by The Post, would apply to all federal workers other than those working in national security, public safety, law enforcement and immigration enforcement.
