More power to Keke Palmer.
The “Nope” star exuded authority at Sergio Hudson in her swank cream trousers and trench coat.
“This look really epitomizes a lot of this era for me, which is masterful,” the actor, singer and television personality told Alexa before the show. “Setting the tone, in every room I walk into. It’s about being the leader of my world.”
There were plenty of entertainment, fashion and sports leaders sitting front row at Hudson’s runway extravaganza. The designer welcomed celebs including Muni Long, Tamron Hall, Ebony Obsidian, Anna Cathcart, Patina Miller and New England Patriots defensive tackle Davon Godchaux to his evening event at Neuehouse Madison Square.
Hudson sent out effortless American sportswear in luxurious fabrics and rich hues like ruby red, hunter green, electric blue and burgundy. That meant monochromatic three-piece suits worn with trending ties, pencil skirts, chunky knit cashmere sweaters (a first for the brand) and wiggle dresses topped with fluffy Mongolian fur coats.
He unveiled his new shoe collab with Stuart Weitzman – ultra sexy stiletto boots, booties and high-heeled pumps – and presented menswear for the second time.
It was easy to see why Hudson has so many celebrity fans. His impeccably tailored suits, elegant gowns and commanding coats always look right. He has dressed former First Ladies Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden; music legends like Beyoncé and Janelle Monáe, and actors including Brooke Shields and Rachel Brosnahan in his sleek, colorful creations. They project strength and chic.
In a show of support and comity, fellow designers Bihbu Mohapatra, Jason Wu, Nicole Miller, Brandon Blackwood, Kingsley Gbadegesin, Jameel Mohammed and Maxwell Osborne attended the show.
“The construction was out of this world,” Osborne, founder of anOnlyChild and co-founder of Public School told Alexa. ‘I think he did a great job.”
