Michael Venom Page would love to punch Colby Covington ‘in the face’ at UFC 314

Michael “Venom” Page can’t stop — and won’t stop — frustrating his opponents and picking up victories.
The UFC welterweight has a career 23-3 record, is 2-1 in the UFC and each opponent has looked bewildered, even shocked, by the movement they are facing on the other end.
Page went from 170 pounds to 185 and styled his way to victory over the previously undefeated Sharaputdin “Bullet” Magomedov on Feb. 1.
Now, the MMA world is his oyster.
He named a few opponents he’s ready to best in the octagon, specifically at the UFC 314 card in Miami, slated for April. 12.
“[Colby] Covington would be a great fight,” Page told The Post. “I would love to punch him in the face.”
Anybody in the top 10 would be a nice step forward for the 37-year-old London native, who fought in Miami for his UFC debut in March 2024, a win over Kevin Holland at UFC 299.
Even without an opponent officially on the docket, Page is looking forward to fighting in Miami, where he has several family members.
“That’s what I want,” Page told The Post. “My family is in my Miami, my first fight is in Miami. I’d love to return and go back there 100 percent. That’s the one I’m definitely going to push for, whoever the opponent is, just give me someone. Allow me to try and get an opponent as soon as possible.”
Page added that while he fought Magomedov at 185 pounds, his goal is steadfast.
“The goal is to get back down to welterweight and fight there and go for the title,” he said.
Covington would certainly be the target at 170 pounds, as he is ranked No. 9 in the UFC’s welterweight division, but he has another potential opponent in that division: “The nice guy.”
That would be Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, an interesting target, who is ranked No. 11 in the welterweight division.
Thompson, a striker with a black belt in Kenpo, might be the only fighter in the division who can actually strike with Page at this point, while Covington, a former top NCAA wrestler, would surely be shooting for takedowns throughout a potential bout with the Brit.
Should neither of those fighters accept, Page added that anyone in the top 10 would do, and if not that, he’s ready to take a short-notice fight at a heavier weight class to alleviate any potentially difficult weight cut.
Page had previously expressed interest in fighting at 185 pounds if it’s a big opportunity on short notice — or even 205 if he has an offer he can’t refuse.
“The most important thing is I get into the octagon as quick as possible,” Page said.
