NFL fans desperately want Daniel Jones to sign with Cowboys
NFL fans know where they want Daniel Jones to go next.
In the interest of spicing up everyone’s Thanksgiving, fans on X have pleaded with the Cowboys to sign Jones after the Giants released him on Friday.

“The Dallas Cowboys have an opportunity to do the funniest thing with Daniel Jones,” former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III wrote on X.
Barstool Sports’ Big Cat agreed and put the onus on the Cowboys owner to come through for America: “Jerry Jones could do the funniest thing ever and save Thanksgiving Football.”
“Daniel Jones and CeeDee Lamb on the Cowboys next week,” the FanDuel Sportsbook account wrote alongside a video of Tom Brady throwing a touchdown to Randy Moss.
“I don’t ask for much, universe. But this one is a big one. Cowboys QB Daniel Jones v. the Giants on Thanksgiving. PLEASE,” ESPN’s Benjamin Solak wrote.
The alternative is pretty bleak with Tommy DeVito leading the 2-8 Giants against Cooper Rush and the 3-7 Cowboys. Both NFC East teams have the opportunity to add another loss (or win!) to their ledger on Sunday before the Turkey Day showdown.

The Cowboys entered the season with high expectations but have been a brutal disappointment and the season officially became a wasted one when starting quarterback Dak Prescott was put on IR with a hamstring injury that will keep him sidelined to 2025.
Dallas has turned to veteran backup Cooper Rush and have maintained loyalty to him, despite middling results and the opportunity to give former No. 3 pick Trey Lance an opportunity.
While it is possible the Cowboys would have interest in Jones, the likelihood of him being the starter less than a week after his Giants release is regrettably minimal.

It is also possible the Giants worked out a handshake agreement with Jones not to sign with one of the team’s rivals this season as he had requested his release.
The Giants benched Jones on Monday and demoted him to fourth-string quarterback behind DeVito, Drew Lock and the newly-signed Tim Boyle.

Jones has a $23 million injury clause in his contract that made it non-sensical for the team to play him at all in meaningless games, particularly after he had been demoted from starter.
“Daniel came to see me this morning and asked if we would release him,” Giants owner John Mara said in a statement on Friday. “We mutually agreed that would be best for him and for the team. Daniel has been a great representative of our organization, first class in every way. His handling of this situation (Thursday) exemplifies just that. We are all disappointed in how things have worked out.”
