Saquon Barkley’s parents have ‘never seen him that happy’
PHILADELPHIA — Their son had just punched his ticket to the Super Bowl, they had just celebrated with Super Saquon on the field at The Linc, and Alibay Barkley and Tonya Johnson wore the smiles of proud parents who had just watched their son live out his dream.
A dream he could never realize for most of his six challenging, unfulfilling seasons in New York, as a Giant, as much as he was driven to plant a fifth Lombardi Trophy inside 1925 Giants Drive.
The father was wearing a green Eagles sweatshirt.
“Since you were a little kid, this is what you wanted,” Alibay Barkley said. “We’re here now.”
