Shopper baffled after AliExpress sends insane photo of drill instead of tool
A man was shocked after he ordered a drill from AliExpress — and received a photograph of the tool instead.
In November 2024, Sylvester Franklin, 68, ordered the DIY appliance and a pressure washer for $40 from the budget online store.
On December 9, a package arrived and instead of a new drill and pressure washer, the retiree received a picture of the drill and a screw.
He said he has complained to AliExpress but has still not received a refund.
Sylvester, a former mechanic and repair man, from Savannah, Georgia, said: “I paid around $40 — all I got given was a picture of the drill and a screw.
“I was very upset. I contacted them for a refund straight away.
“They have not got back to me.
“I am retired. They took advantage of me. They need to pay for what I have done.
“I was very upset when I opened the box.”
“I am a mechanic and repair man. I use tools like that all the time to work on my car or around the house.
“This is bad.
“They have taken advantage of me — don’t scam nobody.
“When I pay for something, I expect to get what I paid for.”
AliExpress has been contacted for comment.
