Who Went Home On ‘The Golden Bachelorette’ Tonight? Jordan Heller Goes Home After Hometown Dates

One week after bidding emotional farewells to beloved contestants Mark Anderson, Keith Gordon, and Jonathan Rone, Joan Vassos went on four spectacular Hometown Dates and said goodbye to one more Golden Guy.

After Joan traveled to Chicago, Nevada, and Kansas in Episode 6 to meet the loved ones of her Final Four men, she gave roses to Guy Gansert, Pascal Ibgui, and Chock Chapple before saying goodbye to Jordan Heller.

Since Night 1, when the 61-year-old sales manager hugged Joan told her he was “really impressed” by her selflessness, Jordan gave off wholesome vibes. “You gave it up because your daughter needed you,” he said, referring to Joan’s Golden Bachelor self-elimination. “I have three daughters, and I would leave for them as well.”

In Episode 2, the Girl Dad was one of the guys Joan took to prom, and in Episode 3, he gave his all out on the kickball field on the winning Blue Team. In Episode 4, he finally got the one-on-one date of his dreams, but he also had to confront his nightmare: ice skating. Jordan made it about five feet into the rink before falling on his butt so hard that Joan couldn’t suppress her laughter. She spent the remainder of their skating time pulling Jordan around the mini rink, and the date was saved when the two got cozy together on a couch, sipped hot chocolate, and dove from the silly portion of the date to the depths of Jordan’s divorce.

Jordan explained that he got married, had three amazing kids, and had a good marriage for years, but following some “serious breaches of marital trust,” he got divorced and did everything he could to keep his kids happy and psychologically healthy. “The kids all left the house, and the four of us were living in a two bedroom apartment in Wicker Park. And it was we were puppies, healing each other,” he said. “Everybody needed the closeness…” To lift the mood, Joan revealed a surprise: an intimate concert by REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin and Dave Amato, one of Jordan’s favorite childhood bands. The two slow danced on the ice (with protective footwear), sang, laughed in the fake snow, and did lots of kissing.

Heading into their Hometown Date, Joan admitted that her relationship with Jordan had a bit of a slower progression compared to others, but she was still open to exploring their connection. Before meeting Jordan’s family, the two saw the sights, grabbed deep dish pizza, and had Joan’s favorite meal…dessert! They recapped their Golden Bachelorette journey (and Jordan’s “cartoon fall” on the ice) for his family, and Jordan’s brothers assured Joan that he is an amazing father with unconditional love for his kids.

Jordan’s daughters sat him down and chatted about his readiness to get engaged, and though Jordan was having a blast on The Golden Bachelorette, he admitted he wasn’t in love or ready to propose quite yet. Joan sensed his reservations and told his kids she was worried he wouldn’t choose her at the end, so before the date wrapped, Jordan’s daughter Ali took him aside and encouraged him to break down the walls he built after his divorce 10 years ago.

Ali warned him that he was the least open of Joan’s Final Four, and Jordan vowed to be more honest about his feelings for Joan. When the time came to say goodbye, however, he simply said “I hope we can make more big steps,” which worried Joan to the point of asking him if he thought it was even worth trying. He assured her he wanted to keep progressing, but Joan left confused and knew keeping Jordan around for another week would require taking a big leap of faith.

In the end, Joan wasn’t willing to take that leap and felt her connections with the other three men were more likely to end in a long-term relationship. Considering Jordan admitted he wasn’t ready yet, the elimination was probably for the best. But we’re still happy we got to know the Golden Guy this season and hope to see him return for the Men Tell All episode later this season.

New episodes of The Golden Bachelorette premiere Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. on ABC with next-day streaming on Hulu.
