This is when the US Post Office will issue Betty White stamp
Sound your vertubenflugens — the US Postal Service will make its new stamp honoring “Golden Girls” actress Betty White available next month.
Books of Betty White “Forever” stamps will be available for purchase starting March 27.
The Post Office announced in November it would be memorializing the iconic White, who died nearly three years ago at the age of 99, with a first-class mail stamp.
The “Golden Girls” star “gained younger generations of fans as she entered her 90s” and “was also revered as a compassionate advocate for animals,” the Postal Service said.
A free first-day-of-issue event for the Betty White stamp is set for March 27 at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
The stamp’s image was based on a 2010 Dale Stephanos photo, and designed by Greg Breeding, an art director for the USPS.
White, who was born in Illinois and raised in California, broke into showbiz three months after graduating from Beverly Hills High in 1939, when she was in an early “experimental” TV show, according to the Television Academy Archive.
In the 1950s, she became the first woman to produce a sitcom during the 1950s.
White is perhaps best remembered for playing completely opposite characters on two of the most popular sitcoms of all time: She portrayed nymphomaniacal Sue Ann Nivens on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” in the 1970s, and played naïve innocent Rose Nylund on “The Golden Girls,” which ran from 1985 to 1992.
