Trump admin slams Selena Gomez for her infamously tearful video over ICE raids
The Trump administration slammed actress Selena Gomez over her infamously tearful video weeping over the White House’s crackdown on criminal migrants by releasing its own video featuring moms of kids allegedly killed by illegal border crossers.
The one-minute and 27-second segment released Saturday showcases three mothers mocking the Golden Globe-nominated actress over her recently deleted video where she sobbed on social media about Trump’s mass-deportation plan.
“All my people are getting attacked, the children,” said Gomez, 32, whose family is from Mexico, in the since-deleted video released Monday.
“I don’t understand. I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something but I can’t.”
Tammy Nobles, whose 20-year-old daughter Kayla Hamilton was allegedly murdered by a MS-13 gang member and El Salvadorian national, fumed at the “Only Murders In The Building” actress in the counter clip, proclaiming, “You don’t know who you’re crying for.”
“What about our children who were brutally murdered, and raped and beat to death and left on the floor by these illegal immigrants?” she added.
“Seeing that video it’s hard to believe it’s genuine and real because she’s an actress,” said Alexis Nungaray, whose teen daughter Jocelyn was found dead in a Houston creek last year in a murder authorities believe was committed by Venezuelan migrants.
Gomez came under fire from many of her own fans as well as right-wing lawmakers, which led to her deleting the segment and posting an Instagram Story where she said, “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents as of Friday had rounded up and arrested 7,260 illegal migrants since President Trump green-lighted the deportation raids nearly two weeks ago.
