Viral video shows how powerful airplane toilets truly are

They really are a flush above.

A TikTokker recently went viral after demonstrating the true power that airplane toilets possess — showing how almost nothing in the sky-high lavatory is safe from its mighty siphon.

Jocelyn Saribay, known online as @itsjoceelyns, tested out one of the powerful potties recently by placing a sheet of toilet paper on the ground of an airplane’s restroom.

“The suction of the toilet was so strong, it sucked the toilet paper from the ground and into the toilet,” she told Storyful.

Watching it in person made Saribay’s jaw drop — and she wasn’t the only one taken aback.

Very quickly, her clip, viewed over one million times, shocked onlookers.

“Immediately booking a flight to test this!” one commented.

“That made me uncomfortable,” wrote another.

Frequent flyers may note that Saribay erred in touching the TP to begin with — a cardinal sin that those in the know have repeatedly warned against.

One cabin crew member named Kate shared with her social media followers the disgusting news that the sanitary product is often contaminated by the time you make it to the lavatory.

“It’s got men’s pee pee on it because they don’t how to control that thang,” she said of guys helplessly spraying while the aircraft is in motion.

Some potty pros have recommended using the airplane paper towels or tissues instead, which tend to be out of the line of fire.

Meanwhile, flight attendant and blogger Rich Henderson warns that creating a line outside the bathroom on a plane is a huge flyer faux pas.

“Lining up makes it worse because everyone thinks there’s always going to be a line,” he told USA Today.

“I promise there will be a lull in the bathroom traffic. [Flight attendants] have to go as well.”

And while Saribay may have proved the power of plane suction, that won’t always eliminate in-flight odors from the restroom.

In extreme cases the flight crew will typically and strategically place coffee beans in and around the bathroom to absorb the unpleasant smell.
