Zoe Saldaña pulled off camera during expletive BAFTAs 2025 speech

Zoe Saldaña’s excitement appeared to get the better of her during her acceptance speech at the 2025 BAFTAs on Sunday night.

The actress, 46, rushed to the stage to accept the Best Supporting Actress award from Colman Domingo and Adam Pearson for her role in “Emilia Perez” at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

But after realizing that she was running out of time to say her thanks, the “Avatar” star couldn’t help but spew out a series of profanities out of panic.

“I was told not to cry by my children, so I’ll try,” she began her speech. “This is so validating and a true honor, because the very few times that I went for a part with a British accent or dialect coach, I was like, ‘This is not going to happen to you.’ Even though I have a lot of British friends, I find myself repeating all their phrases, and I know that I’m a pain in the ass.”

Calling the project a “creative challenge of a lifetime,” the “From Scratch” star thanked her cast and crew, before dedicating her award to her nephew, Eli.

“He is the reason — they are the reason — I signed up to do this film in the first place,” she said. “So as the proud aunt of a trans life, I will always stand with my community of trans people.”

“Oh my god I’m getting a countdown. F–k, f–k, f–k,” she panicked, before being pulled off camera.

For the glitzy outing, Saldaña rocked a strapless black gown that featured mesh detailing along the neckline. She accessorized with a large diamond necklace and rings.

Saldaña has been enjoying a largely successful awards season so far.

Last month, the actress won her first Golden Globe for her role in the musical crime film.

After receiving the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, Saldaña gave an emotional acceptance speech on the stage.

“I don’t have much time, and I have dyslexia, so I tend to forget when I’m really anxious and I’m filled with adrenaline, but my heart is full of gratitude,” the actress said.

”Thank you so much to the Golden Globes for celebrating our film and honoring the women of Emilia Pérez. This is the first time for me, and I’m just so blessed that I’m sharing this moment with Selena and Karla and Jacque and all of my fellow nominees.”

“I know that it’s a competition, but all that I have witnessed is just us showing up for each other and celebrating each other, and it’s just so beautiful,” she added.

Later in the evening, Saldaña was caught up in a slight mishap after she stormed the stage when “El Mal” from “Emilia Perez” won Best Original Song.

As composers Camille Dalmais and Clément Ducol went to accept the award, Saldaña could be seen rushing from her seat toward the stage.

She then grabbed the trophy from presenters Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh to give it to Dalmais and Ducol.

But things didn’t go to plan, as Goldblum awkwardly snatched the trophy back from Saldaña and handed it to the pair.
